Love this Globe and Mail article! If the Americans don't complain about the Canadian snow birds(#1 foreign investors in US) leave their "investment" properties sit empty min 6 months of the year if not more, why do Vancouverites complain some sit empty condos in the Metro Vancouver that are owned by ONLY 2% foreign investors. If they let them sit, they are not flipping the properties. Why do the Asian gets all the blame? Asian drives up the price, Asian brought down the price, now Asian leaves the investment property sit empty....Do you believe in free trade or not? Does people has the freedom to decide what they do with their possession? In reality, human nature complains when things are not in their favor.
